The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater is proud to offer the community access to collections that feature a variety of mediums in our Leon Family Gallery, located on the second floor landing at the Simon Family JCC.

Each exhibit we present throughout the year represents Israeli and/or Jewish artists, spotlighting talent from within our Tidewater community, or from around the globe.

All exhibits are free and open to the public. Upcoming exhibits and meet-the-artist events are announced in our twice-monthly newsletter. Click here to sign up for that correspondence.

Leon Family Gallery: Humans of October 7, Erez Kaganovitz

This breathtaking new exhibition brings to light the human stories of the remarkable people who have stood up to terrorism and showcases the unique spirit and resilience of the Israeli people. Created by one of Israel’s most noted artists and photojournalists, Humans of October 7th aims to combat misconceptions and antisemitic sentiment by showing the human side of the millions of lives in Israel affected by the attacks and ensuing conflict.

On exhibit in the Leon Family Gallery through June 2024.

Haim Jelin, Survivor from Kibbutz Be’eri

Yom Ha'Atzmaut, Yom HaZikaron, and Yom Hashoah are deeply interconnected days in Israel's collective memory.

Together, they underscore the significance of remembrance, resilience, and the continual pursuit of strong and flourishing Jewish communities, both in Israel and the Diaspora.

The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater invites you to join us in commemorating these important occasions and to learn more about them.  Please visit our Resource Page.
